Children’s Ministry Resources
This page is designed to serve as a landing spot for children’s ministry volunteers and parents. Below you will find resources and links for the children’s ministry of Redeemer Baptist Church. Our goal is to reinforce what Christian parents are teaching in the home; all parents are welcome to use these resources and participate in the meetings for teacher training and prayer.
Class Structure
We seek to give our children a beautiful hour with direct access to God’s Word and opportunities to worship and learn through:
1) Memorizing and reciting longer passages of scripture such as entire Psalms or Jesus’ parables.
2) Prayer.
3) Singing great hymns of the faith in order to learn rich and comforting doctrine by heart.
4) Hearing the Bible read directly and responding to what they heard through narration (telling back). Older students read along in their own Bibles.
5) Looking at great works of art, such as Rembrandt, that correspond to the scripture passage read, aiding in memory of the passage and deeper reflection.
6) Using their hands to learn a new skill that can serve and bless others such as clay sculpture, painting, calligraphy, loom weaving, and macrame.
7) Being challenged and encouraged in their faith during a literary enrichment time of hearing a missionary biography or Christian classic such as Pilgrim’s Progress.
