Bible Reading Plan
“The sweet bond of Christian love and unity will be strengthened. We shall be often led to think of those dear brothers and sisters in the Lord, here and elsewhere, who agree to join with us in reading these portions. We shall oftener be led to agree on earth, touching something we shall ask of God. We shall pray over the same promises, mourn over the same confessions, praise God in the same songs, and be nourished by the same words of eternal life.”
~ Robert Murray M’Cheyne
Our church family is encouraged to read through the Bible together using the M’Cheyne calendar. This reading plan goes through the Psalms and New Testament twice and the Old Testament once in one year. This plan was created in 1842 by Pastor Robert Murray M’Cheyne for his church and has since become one of the most used reading plans in the world. Originally, the first two readings were intended for family devotions and the second two were for private reading on the same day; you are free to organize this however you like.
